Bill Jenney brings his knowledge and experience to A. Green Baseball, as he enters his seventh season as a member of the coaching staff.  Jenney has over 20 years of experience in the coaching ranks and he will use his background to work with the A. Green outfielders and assist with the A. Green hitters and the overall approach to the game. Jenney has had a long and successful record as a coach at various levels from youth ages through high school, with an emphasis on skill development and technique enhancement.  Jenney began his high school career at Plymouth Salem HS as the Head Coach of the freshman program, where he compiled an impressive 27-7 record over two seasons.  That success led to Jenney being named the Head Coach of the varsity program at Bloomfield Hills Lahser HS.  During his time at Lahser, Jenney saw his teams put together back to back league championship seasons in the Oakland Athletic Association with a two-year record of 37-16.  In 2010, Jenney moved to Dexter HS where he again oversaw the freshman program as they compiled a 19-9-3 record.  For the past two seasons, Jenney was a part of the varsity staff at the University of Detroit Jesuit HS where the club won consecutive MHSAA District Championships.  The 2012 club advanced to the Catholic League Championship game for the first time in 50 years.  Jenney has led several summer and fall programs to great success, including a National Runner-Up finish in the 2005 IBC World Series.

Jenney has also found time to author over 60 different handouts that serve as a guide for youth players as they learn the fundamentals of the game. Jenney has spent time as the founder of the Baseball – Softball Excellence School, putting together over 40 clinics for players and coaches that covered various aspects of the game.

Jenney is a long-time member of the ABCA and during his career, he has attended numerous training conferences. Included among these are the annual ABCA and MHSBCA conventions, Carbo Premier Baseball, Doyle Baseball, Upper Deck Academy, Avery Hitting Camp and the Midwest Baseball Coaches Clinic. As well, Jenney has spent time at the Martin Baseball School, the Waelchli Pitching Clinic, along with the EMU, MSU, and U of M campus. Jenney also has enjoyed time and training with former MLB Pitcher Geoff Zahn.

Jenney attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado and along with earning his bachelor degree in Economics, he was a member of the baseball program as a starting infielder, leading the team to the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Prior to leaving the Academy, Jenney also completed the Air Force Officer Leadership School where he was designated as a Distinguished Graduate. In addition, Jenney was also selected as the McGuire Air Force Base Junior Officer of the Year and twice was named as an Outstanding Young Man of America. Years later, while serving in the Air Force Reserves, Jenney was selected as Air Force Academy National Liaison Officer of the Year.

Having completed his time at the Academy, Jenney served his country as a pilot, both in the U.S. and abroad for several years. Jenney continued his education at Central Michigan University where he earned his Masters Degree in Business Management.

Following his service to his country, Jenney began what would eventually be a 30-year career as a commercial airline pilot with Northwest Airlines, now retired, commanding DC-9 aircraft while being based out of Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Jenney has long been involved in his community as a member of the Northville Baseball-Softball Association Board of Directors, including a stint as the President of the Association. In addition, Jenney has served as a member of the Northville Parks & Recreation Commission along with a tenure as the Secretary of the Friends of the Northville Parks and Recreation Association. As a result of his civic involvement, Jenney was twice selected as the Outstanding Contributor to the Northville Baseball-Softball Association and he was also nominated for the Northville Citizen of the Year award.

Jenney is married to Audrey and they are parents to four wonderful children; Kyle, Kelsey, Allison, and Bryce. All four are college graduates, with Bryce recently completing his baseball playing career at Michigan State University.
